追記 ５： ラダックからの二つのニュース

ラダックから、また少し心配なニュースが伝えられています。

State Times Online版の１２月６日http://www.statetimes.in/news/leh-shuts-down-against-police-atrocities-in-zanaskar/によると、１２月５日、レー市内ではラダック仏教徒協会（LBA）の呼びかけにより、千人を超す人びとが、１１月２６日にザンスカールのサニ村で起きた、警官による、女性を含む３０名の住民への暴行事件に抗議し、ザンスカール在住の仏教徒への連帯を示すための平和行進を行いました。行進は、チョカン・ビハラからポログランドまで行われ、商店街は午前中はすべて閉店となったということです。

この事件の発端は、ザンスカール、サニ村に昔からある、グル　リンポチェ　パドマサンバヴァが修行をしたと伝えられ、聖地として仏教徒が大切にしている池で、パドゥムの町に駐屯するジャンム・カシミール州の警官たちが釣りをしたことです。これに抗議した村人たちが釣りを継続する警官達と小競り合いになり、女性を含む村人たちが負傷したということです。

State Timesによると、LBAの副会長を勤めるツェワン・ティンレス師は、この平和行進は、現地の行政側による、民族主義的な差別や偏見や無視を被っているザンスカールの仏教徒住民に対する支援と連帯を表明するためのものであると述べ、また、警官による住民への正当な理由なき暴力と彼らの高圧的な態度を非難し、責任者の処分、仏教徒保護のためのインド国軍のザンスカール駐留などを要求しているということです。

事件の起きたサニ村は、この１０月にイスラム教への改宗事件が起きたパドゥムの町に近く、今回の事件も、この間のイスラム系と仏教系ラダッキの緊張が原因なのです。

 

次は、ラダック文化に関するニュースです。

「古くから伝わる神聖な仏教経典の読経・声明は、ヒマラヤ地方ラダックに広く点在する僧院に住む僧侶たちにより、仏教各学派の伝統に従って、日常的に執り行われています。また、仏教上の重要な催しや、個人の人生の通過儀礼や、農作業上の大切な日にも、それが執り行われます。それにより、悪霊の怒りを鎮め、様々なブッダ、菩薩、神々やリンポチェの祝福を人びとに授け、人びとの精神上・道徳上の安泰を実現するのです。読経は、世界の平和と繁栄も同時に願って行われます。

読経・声明は、高度に構成された音楽的なドラマでもあります。室内で行われることもあれば、僧院の中庭や村の個人の住宅で舞踏を伴って行われることもあります。読経の間、僧侶は特別な衣装をまとい、手はジェスチャーにより聖なるブッダを表します。楽器では、鈴や太鼓、シンバルとラッパが用いられ、リズムを奏でます。読経は、瞑想を深め、悟りを開き、現世の苦から自由になるための手段なのです。」
